THE LEELANAU SCHOOL
 Northern Pines Farm is pleased to provide the facility for the Equestrian Program at the Leelanau School. A short drive from the farm, The Leelanau School is the experience-based, five-senses learning community where students in grades 9 through 12 live and discover together on Lake Michigan's wooded shore. The faculty and curriculum build on each student's learning strengths, creatively using hands-on projects and the dramatic natural setting to help students gain a fresh new sense of independence, engagement, and capability.
In a program created especially for them, Leelanau students receive two group lessons each week, two days to "hack" on their own, and an educational/horsemanship session. All activities are under the supervision of our professional trainers. Riders also have the option to horse show on a state or regional level if they choose.
Many parents have found that riding has the potential to teach their children to care for another, learn to work with a partner, and come to understand the basics of discipline and organization, especially time management.
